International Development (or Global Development)

In this program participants will be empowered with tools that help them understand the standards of level of development of a nation to be quoted on an international scale. Participants will learn the basis for international classifications such as developed country, developing country and least developed country. We're going to explore many schools of thought and conventions, which are the exact features constituting development of a country. This program which concept is synonymous of economic development will also address holistic and multi-disciplinary context of human development as well as other concepts like competitiveness, quality of life or subjective well-being. The program will address the difference between international development and simple development in that it is specifically composed of institutions and policies that arose after the Second World War, of which institutions focus on alleviating poverty.

In the 21st century, senior executives of public and private sectors face special challenges. They must be visionary leaders with a strong commitment in driving results. They must be able to apply “people skills” to motivate their constituencies, build partnerships, and communicate with their constituencies. They need solid executive, negotiation, leadership, and international affairs core skills in order to address issues faced by an organization, a community, a nation, or our world, and produce optimum results with limited resources. The United States Institute of Leadership and Diplomacy focuses its activities on training world class international public and private sector leaders, expected to be wise enough and strong enough to advocate and implement policies deemed to promote the liberty and justice.

Equipping with Executive Core Competencies & Leadership Insight (ECCLI)

The United States Institute of Leadership and Diplomacy equips and empowers senior executive with core competencies that define the competencies needed to build a corporate culture that drives for results, serves customers, and builds successful teams and coalitions within and outside the organization. The Executive Core Competencies produce outstanding impact in the course of performing Senior Executive Services and are used by many high performing government agencies, corporations, non-profit organizations, United Nations, European Union, and similarly related organizations that require high, performance management, and leadership development for management and executive positions. The Executive Core Competencies are used by all U.S. government agencies and were designed to assess executive experience and potential-not technical expertise.

Successful performance in the Senior Executive Position requires competence in each Executive Core Competence. The ECCs are interdependent; successful executives bring all five to bear when providing service in a dynamic organization, or to a Nation.

USILD has concentrated its activities on training world class international public and private sector leaders, expected to be wise enough and strong enough to advocate and implement policies deemed to promote the spirit of peace, liberty and justice, and transform organizations, communities, nations, and our world for the benefit of people. It does so by equipping Senior Executive with core executive competencies and competencies in international politics and diplomatic setting.

Participants will be equipped with the core competence deemed to empower you with the ability to bring about strategic change, both within and outside the organization, to meet organizational goals. Inherent to this ECC is the ability to establish an organizational vision and to implement it in a continuously changing environment. We can identify the traits of leading and effecting change in the leadership of Thomas Jefferson (April 13, 1743–July 4, 1826) who was a leading Founding Father of the United States, the author of the Declaration of Independence (1776) and he served as the third President of the US (1801–1809). Jefferson was a committed Republican – arguing passionately for liberty, democracy and devolved power, he was an agent of change who made a difference in the renovation of American Constitution. He also wrote the Statute for Religious Freedom in 1777 which has moved forward the Freedom of Religious not in the U.S. but also adopted in the Constitutions of nations around the world. Religious Freedom statute was adopted by the state of Virginia in 1786. Jefferson sought to introduce a bill (1800) to end slavery in all Western territories. As President, he signed a bill to ban the importation of slaves into the US (1807). All of the above stated Jefferson's actions have moved back discrimination among citizens of the same nation and have effected change that posed the grounds of liberty, democracy, and equality

Within the scope of this competency, participants with be trained on how to build coalitions. This core competency involves the ability to build coalitions internally and with other operating entities, including with government agencies, State and local governments, nonprofit and private sector organizations, foreign governments, or international organizations to achieve common goals. The United States Institute of Leadership and Diplomacy is focused on updating knowledge, equipping and empowering Senior Executives of public and private sectors in the areas of advanced international relations and diplomacy. Programs cover areas such as international politics, international communication, international development, international economic relations, peace and conflict resolution, global environmental politics, and foreign policy of great powers.

Foreign Policies of Great Powers

This program aims at equipping participants with skills that will unable them to become experts in assessing and analyzing foreign policies of the greater powers from the perspective of analysis of internal and external factors affecting these policies, the main objectives of these policies up to the analysis of external policy tools stating from diplomatic to military tools. This program focuses on studying and analysis of foreign external policies of the United States, Russia, China, Britain, France, Germany and Japan.

Global Politics (International Politics)

In this program participants will be equipped with actionable skills that will permit them analysis of political and economical patterns of the world. They will be empowered with skills in the different processes of political globalization in relation to questions of social power. The program will address the relationships between cities, nation-states, shell-states, multinational corporations, non-governmental organizations and international organizations. Areas of discussion include national and ethnic conflict regulation, democracy and rule of law and the politics of national self-determination, globalization and its relationship to democracy, conflict and peace studies, comparative politics, political economy, and the international political economy of the environment It will also discuss the important area related to the contestation in the global political sphere over legitimacy. Global politics is said by some to be distinct from the field of international politics (commonly seen as a branch of international relations, as it "does not stress the primacy of intergovernmental relations and transactions. However, this distinction has no scientific values in this program as authors and political scientists, who often use the term "international politics" to mean global politics.

Global Comminicarion

In the global communication program participants will be empowered with ability to design or establish platforms deemed to connect, share, relate and mobilize across geographic, political, economic, social and cultural divides. Participants will learn how to redefine soft and hard power as well as information power and diplomacy in ways not considered by traditional theories of international relations. Participants will how to transfer knowledge and ideas from centers of power to peripheries and the imposition of a new intercultural hegemony by means of the "soft power" of global news and entertainment.
