Master in Public Policy/Master of Arts in International Affairs

The dual MPP/MAIA (Master of Arts in International Affairs) is aimed at students who have an interest in pursuing professions in international affairs policy in the public, private and non-profit sectors. Students in the program will develop the rigorous tools of policy analysis while obtaining substantive training in international affairs.

Students interested in applying to the MPP/MA in International Affairs must complete and submit both the MPP and MAIA applications to the respective programs simultaneously. Please note that you cannot apply retroactively for this dual degree program. The dual degree consists of 78- credit hours (39 for MPP and 39 for MAIA) and requires three years to complete. Students are also required to pass a mandatory MAIA oral exam as well as a language and map tests. Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA in each department (computed separately).

Although there is some flexibility in order to accommodate students’ specific professional and academic goals, students enrolled in the dual MPP/MAIA program typically pursue the following course of study:
